Day of STEM.png

Our Day of STEM program partners a primary or secondary school with a local business to bring a STEM professional into the classroom to expose students to various STEM careers. An individual or a team of employee volunteers is identified, prepped with content to be shared, and sent on a local school visit on a predetermined date. In addition to serving as STEM role models, volunteers engage students in discussion and various STEM activities. Work with us to customize a Day of STEM event to meet your needs.

Consider volunteering or signing up to bring STEM professionals into your classroom by completing the appropriate form below.

FOR EDUCATORS

We have two unique partnerships with organizations to bring a STEM experience to your school that includes a hands-on STEM activity. This activity is focused on students in grades 5 to 7, but it can be offered to students in grades 3 to 8.

1) SEWRPC Floodplain Plan Day of STEM

Host a team from the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (SEWRPC), the official metropolitan planning organization for the seven-county SE WI Region. They will bring a Floodplain and Lesson activity to your classroom. This program offers an engaging, hands-on floodplain model for classrooms, allowing students to explore water runoff, floodplains, and effective water mitigation strategies in a dynamic way.

2) MATC Mobile STEM Lab

Schedule an "onsite" field trip for your students and enjoy a hands-on automation demonstration from Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) at your school in the greater Milwaukee area. Please remember that the Lab requires a 15'x25' off-street parking area, such as a playground or school-side parking lot. This opportunity brings groups of 10 to 12 students to the Mobile STEM Lab for a 10 to 25-minute experience. View the 2023/24 School Year Impact here.
